Possible to put mortgage in sole name?

Hi, we are looking at moving house shortly and would like to use help to buy equity loan. My husband is the wage earner and I am a stay at home mum to our 3 kids.

What I would like to know is, can my husband apply for help to buy and a mortgage in his sole name or is this not allowed?

All the money is earned by him and the deposits etc coming from his earnings.

Thanks

If your selling your current property you can still use help to buy. The sale of your current property will need to be at the same time or before the new mortgage completes.

In summary, you and your children are financially dependent on your husband. So need to be factored in as part of the equation when the application is processed. Therefore might as well be party to the mortgage not least to your own interests.
