Entitled to sick pay?

I have been working for a company since the start of the year and it was confirmed a couple of weeks ago that I have passed my probationary period of three months and I am now on a permanent contract. However, I have not received my permanent contract yet even after chasing HR. Unfortunately I was sick for a day earlier this week and so I was wondering if I was entitled to sick pay now I am on a permanent contract and if I am whether it will be paid to me as I haven't received (and hence not signed) my permanent contract?

SSP wont be paid for 1 days sickness and your company sick pay depends on what it says in your contract0
