EU could have QE by next month

    EU QE to begin on the 9th March.

    Summary:
    • ECB to begin Public Sector Purchasing Programme (PSPP) worth €60bn-a-month on March 9

    • Central bank will buy bonds from 2-30 year maturities on the secondary market. Greece will not be included in the purchases until at least July

    • Purchases will be limited to bonds which do not yield less than 0.2pc (the equivalent of the ECB's deposit rate)

    • ECB raises the emergency liquidity assistance ceiling for Greek banks by €500m

    • Growth forecast raised to 1pc for 2015; inflation will be close to zero this year but get close to the 2pc target rate in 2017
