Student loan
Hey all,
I'm after a bit of advice...
I took out a student loan 8 years ago and have been paying it off every since, the other day I decided I wanted to see how much I had left to pay, however in the 8 years I've lost all records and am unable to answer the security question for a number of reasons:
1: There system asks questions such as "Where did you first meet your spouse?"
2: I dont know if the answers are case sensitive
3: The email address I had is no longer mine
4: I couldn't answer all of the questions correctly when calling them...
God knows, I've tried everything to figure this out. So I was thinking, if I send them all the proof I have and request they send me all transactions, outstanding fees and all other digital data stored about me, through the data protection act, they would be legally obliged to complete my request?
My worry is I've been paying back a loan that I think I should have paid off a while back and if not, how much longer for.
Any advice would be great...

Yes if you sent a subject access request (with the £10 fee) under the data protection act they should send you all the relevant information they hold about your account.
However I would probably try giving the customer support number a call to explain the situation and ask them how else they can manually reset your account and resend you new log in details.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
