Feeling stressed!

Hi all,

Thought I had everything under control, all forms printed out and filled in, today went to co-op and opened bank account in preparation. Then this afternoon I get a call to say I will be getting some money from a ppi claim - unsure how much. No use to me now as I guess it will just be taken off my debts.
Trying hard to get £700 together for this month and getting stressed, although guess there is nothing I can do now till I get new account details and start changing stuff over!
So worried about when Banks freeze account too.

your coop account shouldn't be frozen as far as I am aware, braclays also allow bankrupts to have bank accounts and don't freeze their accounts. I have been bankrupt almost a month now and my Barclays account is fine they even offered my half price home insurance because I was bankrupt!

you are doing the right things and preparing properly try not to stress too much

My co-op account is still going even though 2 months since BR.....maybe some charities or credit unions may help with fees?
    Good luck!

I opened a Barclays account prior to going BR - moved salary, Child benefit and all utility DD's to it before going to court - Barclays didn't freeze it at all as far as I am aware (but I had drawn out enough cash for immediate expenses just in case - petrol and food etc). I didn't even send the OR my Barclays cash card (I did ask and OR said it was ok to keep it) I got a letter from Barclays within a couple of days saying the OR had been in touch and I could keep using the account. the only down side was the internet banking was cut off almost immediately.

I am also with Barclays - they allow you to keep your basic account. They just take away your online and telephone banking facilities. I have high praise for them, I was also worried my accounts would be taken away but Barclays were great.

Can you not use the PPI refund to pay the OR fees? I don't know how they do a PPI refund but maybe you could get a cheque and take it to a cheque cashing place? I know you'd loose out in fees etc but then you would have the cash for your fees?
