just have to keep looking out for offers, or look at the apple refurbished site. I would say that ipod touches are not as popular now as they were, may even be better to consider a ipad mini or full ipad as she may want a touch now but soon it will be the ipad, refurb ones are great value and can be very close to the ipod price, just don't go for the ipad 2 as they will probably stop offering updates shortly.
you could consider a used iphone as well, depending on her age she could use the phone or not.0 -
Does it have to be new?
have you tried CEX?
They usually do fairly decent prices and have the 12 month(I believe) guarantee.
For facetime she will need the 4th Gen or up (as the 3rd doesn't update to OS6+ I don't think but 4th does) - I have the 4th and can use facetime. The truth is out there... and I want to believe0 -
thank you for the replies,
she has said it MUST have facetime (apparently its not cool if it doesnt have it) Kids!
ideally i didn't want to pay more than £200.00 and was hoping for a docking station included in that. How much memory will she need as there is a 16GB and then 32GB.
it will mainly be games and music
thanks

more memory the better, and because her friends may not have facetime or move to other devices she will soon find that facetime becomes another app that is important0

For an iPod touch you want 32 GB - even for just music and games 16 GB doesn't quite cut it. Current generation can be bought new for £200 to £210 (no station) (compared to £250 direct from Apple.)
Note that Facetime will mostly only be available at home - non-mobile-phone wireless coverage is very poor in the UK.0 -
Have you tried Student Computers? You don't need to be a student to use them, they stock class a, b and so on ipods and the like, they describe any defects they may have and how slight or major the issue and have been well used by many on this forum.
I have an ipod 4th gen and I don't have face time- someone reported they do, I don't. Wasn't sure if they were talking about an iPhone as the 4g has facetime for the iPhone but my ipod which I have had for a few years now does not do facetime.0 -
AND make sure you get a case for it - my son broke the screen with 4 weeks!!!!!
I paid for it to be replaced £117 - the next time he broke it - I didn't!!!!!0 -

Cex is good for things like this has someone above mentioned and yes they do have a 12 month guarantee.
Depending on colour you can get some around the £200 mark. Colour isn't important when you can get some cases. You can get a 64GB 5th gen so one of the newer ones in B condition. B condition has the odd minor scuff but tbh you don't need an A condition Ipod , B conditions are very similiar.
But if you want money to spare for a dock and case i would get a 4th gen.
You can get a 64GB 4th gen A condition for £135 so a decent amount left for accesories. Or you can still get some 5th Gen's but with 32GB instead of 64GB for a similar price.
So much choice and within your price range.

I would go for CEX too, prices are pretty affordable0
