Asda overcharge on ES Cookies

I went to my local Asda and the shelf display said the excellent Asda Extra Special cookies were £1.60 or 2 for £2.
I stocked up with 6 packs but the checkout charged £1.68 each and no multi buy discount, I went to Customer services and duly got the £4odd refund and a £2 shopping card for being over charged. CS said the shelf label was wrong and the till had charged the correct price.


I went to another local Asda yesterday and exactly the same offer was on display, so watch out that you're not overcharged and it's worth the hassle of going to CS and getting yourself a bargain.

A quick glance at ASDA.com reveals that there are a range Asda Extra Special cookies at £1.60 or 2 for £2. However there are also Asda Extra Special cookies at £1.68 and no offer.

Presumably confusion has arisen between ASDA Extra Special Belgian Double Chocolate Cookies Product Code:4691714 which are in the offer, and ASDA Extra Special All-Butter Double Belgian Chocolate Cookies Product Code: 3591752 which aren't.

My guess would be that ASDA have reformulated the product and have dropped the 'all-butter' bit from their new ES cookies.
