Babyliss Secret Curl / Pro Perfect Curl

Has anyone got one of the above? I understand they are basically the same thing with the latter being the one with more settings available?
I generally straighten with GHDs but am trying out curly hair instead. I already have a Remington Pearl Curling Wand and Babyliss Waving Wand but have seen these that came out last year when they suck your hair up and curl it.
Curious if anyone has any experience of these and can share their views?

Thank you for the mse links. They are tempting if pricey. I think they have come down in price a little since those threads. Still expensive though haha.0 -
I tried my friends secret pro curls but can't speak for the other, can def recommend my hair is very thick and wavy but it worked a treat with little pratice :-)People don't know what they want until you show them.0

I saw them on QVC and when the models were doing their own it looked ok but not amazing. I still want one though so keeping an eye on this thread. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

I have the Curl Secret. I must say it's incredibly easy to use and I like the results on my hair (which is just past shoulder-length, thick, with a slight wave).
However, my sister tried it and her hair tangled up every time. She has much thinner, finer, straighter hair than me. I'd say definitely try it out first if you can before you buy.0 -
Hi there
I was desperate for this as I had seen it all over Youtube and also on QVC. I have lots of fine hair but it has ends which were once bleached, so I have greasy roots but dry ends.
I recently discovered my sister had bought the pro version (via a Sally's trade card). I had a shot and, to be honest, I found a few issues.
1 - I never got a curl that I liked. I have shoulder length hair and, on high settings, it sprung up to my ears - far too tight for me. On the lower settings it just fell straight into a barely there kink.
2 - When I did get the curliest curl, on a high heat, my hair smelled burned. The only comparison would be when I used to (occasionally - a looong long time ago) iron my hair. I had used my usual heat protectant and normally I use Ghd's - so I don't know what caused it exactly - but a bit disconscerting(sp?)
3 - I found it heavy to hold. One of the things that appealed to me was that it wouldn't really need 2 hands (I have a curling wand I use). However, I had to use both hands - it became too heavy for me.
4 - I found I had to curl the whole section of hair, I would usually only curl half my length but I just couldn't get it right and ended up with a noticeable kink where the curl started, and the 3 I did concsecutively started at different lengths and (because the curl was so tight) it was impossible to disguise & I felt like an idiot.
Needless to say, I have only tried it once, maybe if I'd just spent the £140 on it then I'd have been motivated to make it work. As it was I wore my hair pulled back that day, and thanked my lucky stars that my sister bought it and not me
I should point out that she says she loves it!£2.00 Savers Club 2015 £0 / £144 (1st Jan 2015)0 -
i love my secret curl, it takes a few uses to get used to it
i think the pro is better for longer hair from what i have read0 -
We have the pro version and have tried it on thick medium length and thick long hair; and it tangled on the latter, and didn't give the desired look. My DD1 was desperate for it, after also reading reviews and us watching the videos, but it ha been a waste of time and we probably would have got the same or similar effect with tongs or straighteners. Definitely road test one first , if able to. I wish we had!GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £28.56/150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. it says this on the Babyliss site (not the pro version): IMPORTANT! This styler is not designed for use on very long hair and should not be used on hair lengths below the bust.
which thankfully meant i wouldn't be tempted into buying another hair gadget that probably won't work for me!0 -
I must admit I'm curious about these- I am rubbish at doing my own hair and need all the help I can get!!
I have the babyliss big hoar brush which is so easy ever I can work it!0
