Santander CTL

Hi, long time lurker but first post.

Can anyone please advise me on gaining CTL from Santander.

I've had a look through similar posts but haven't managed to come across a similar situation.

I was previously being granted CTL by Santander, this was about 4 years ago but my circumstances changed and it was not required.

I'm now looking for CTL as I'm looking to move back in with my parents for a time, my parents are elderly and I'm finding myself staying at theirs more than at my flat. I've considered selling my flat but I have now ruled this out as I would like to return to it sometime in the future.

My mortgage situation is that my fixed rate has recently ended and I have moved on to their SVR. My question is should I ask for a retention product and then request CTL..would they be open to this or should I ask for CTL and then request a retention rate. Anyone have an experience of a similar situation or has any guys in the 'know' came across this type of situation.

Many thanks for any assistance
