Never heard of the silver in the baby's hand Wingo. Wish I'd tried it now! lol
Just found out that Dara O'briain is playing at a local theatre in May, so have bought tickets for OH and I!There will probably be a local comp nearer the time, but I don't want to risk missing out on seeing him.
Hugs for you Dreaming! And congrats on the WEM!xx

Brill win Dreaming :T I love the commitments and glad to see they're still going strong!
Yes euro, we always do around here for luck but when I did it to someone's baby ina different place they looked at me kinda strange so I realised....maybe it's just a northern tradition!Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

Hi guys
We also do the silver thing here in Wales.....didn't know about it until people kept giving my little one money. Especially the little old ladies we have never met before, would put 20p in her hand.
I just had a WEM for 2 tickets to Lion King in Cardiff Millenium Centre. Husband has never been to the theatre so I'm dragging him along.Let's be happy!!0 -
wingobins we also did it in N Ireland (giving new babies silver). It seems to have gone out of fashion now.

Well done on your win kitten :j
Aw it's a shame it's going out of fashion now DreamsI think it's lovely providing baby with a good start to their piggy bank when lots of folk give them silver for luck. When the pound coins came in people would also use them too and give gold & silver! I still can't resist giving a new baby silver though.
I see the boards are still a bit jumbled. I hope no one is trying to hack our lovely mseBig thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

Morning! Cold one here - I can hear the wind howling out there but at least it is not raining just now (and hope it holds off until after the school run!). What an awful day yesterday with all the exclamation marks on here! I think I had almost gone cross eyed by tea time! Amazing how one person (I assume) could cause so much havoc and scare mongering on one site!
Not got much planned for the day - just house work and comping as the forecast isn't good so won't be venturing out! My parents have just booked a last minute holiday and are flying abroad to Spain on Thursday! Ahhhh what it must be like to be retired with no responsibilities and be able to just book up and go just like that!
Enjoy your morning whatever your plans are and be lucky xxx:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
