Well done on your pastie wins firefly/Sheils.

Been out in the garden most of the day, its hard work but done about a third of the borders with membrane with a nice blue slate. Looking good, can't wait to get it finished but will have to go and get more slate for the rest.

Hope you have all had a lovely day.

That sounds nice Sylvia, but hard work if you have weather like us. It is roasting here again - can't be bothered cooking in the heat. Had better though as I haven't cooked for about a week!

Mackerel salad sounds good FF. Haven't got my shopping done so using up stuff I have and having Tuna Pasta Bake. DD & DS3 just had theirs without it being baked!

Yeah I like it with cheese and bread crumbs on top but kids like it just with cheesy sauce and cheese sprinkled on top. It also means they can have it early!

Thanks Sheils/firefly, it has been a hard day but when I stand back and look at it I am well pleased. DD did most of the hard work though.

Your teas sound lovely, we just had a jacket with cheese and beans as I forgot to get something out of the freezer.

jacket spuds are favourites here sylv :j
specially in this weather with salad or whatever,
you & DD must remember to eat to keep your strength up
    while working :A
though saying that i'm just the worst for forgetting to eat sometimes when busy :o
& looks like we're going to be busy tomorrow as have loads of rhubarb  all cut & washed ready for baking,
been googling/looking for some new recipes as must admit crumbles & pies get a bit monotonous after a bit :o:D
    found a nice one
(rhubarb tiramisu) on the guardian site & am going to try it tomorrow :j
