mortgage options

hi,new here so be gentle..
my 5 year fixed rate mortgage is finishing july, i would like to try and find a better rate than the 6.14% i currently pay. circumstances have changed slightly here are the bullet points
the wife is not currently on the mortgage due to a previous time lapsed default, she needs to be on new mortgage
current payments are around £470 pcm and hoping to be able to pay the same but with at least £50 overpay included
would prefer to fix for as long as possible
i am just really looking for any pointers or tips got a few months to sort it but no idea how long these things take
