Need some follow up on interview advice

Back in April I had a face to face interview with a fabulous company about a fabulous job. It was all organised via a recruitment agency. The company got back in touch less than 24 hours after the interview saying they wanted to invite me back for a second interview. This was all set for sometime in May - the long wait was due managers going on holiday. The day before the next interview I receive a call from the agency telling me that I was top of the list for being hired only to be pipped at the post by an internal candidate. The agency stressed that the company was impressed with me and asked if they could keep my details on file. I immediately agreed to this as I still want to work for this company.

In June I contacted the Agency making it clear that I still want to work for the company.

My question, can I go ahead and contact the guy who interviewed me directly so that he knows that I still want to work there or is this considered underhand given the Agency? BTW I get along really well with the Agency guy and don't want to step on any toes as I'm still looking for another job.

Thanks

    I certainly would.

If the agency kicks off, then just say you never intended to cut them out as they had "introduced you" any wway and you felt that they would get thier slice in any case :) and say " was I wrong to think that?"
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Keep in touch with the fabulous employer. If you get a job with them, they would be expected to pay a fee to the agency - unless it was beyond the period set in the T&C agreed between the agency and employer.
