Ah the car comes from me because I drive and hubby doesn't and for the last 5 years we've not paid a monthly fee for it because I paid off the bank loan when we mortgaged the house. I think our council tax is quite low due to the area we live in, water is stupidly low because we have a meter and only 2 adults, we have solar panels so our electricity is slightly lower too and it doesn't include food because we use that from our individual accounts not the joint.

I generally have executive control especially of the joint stuff. He's on his own for his part of things. I couldn't stand to have 100% joint accounts - he'd spend it all on the bay and cycling stuff on wiggle.

We don't have joint accounts. Mrs E just deducts her fixed expenses and pocket money and then sends me any leftovers from her wages. For my part, I pay all bills and send money to savings, SIPPs and ISAs.
  • Plops is not neutered - we don't really neuter female horses just separate the sexes. The same argument applies though, too many foals born with no thought for their breeding or whether there is a market for them.

Fine where that's an option SHS. Most small furry pets can't be kept apart when they're, erm, excited.

We rescued Darcy and they thought she'd been done but it was actually her sister that had been done (they looked strikingly similar) and so a few weeks after we got her she went into her first heat. That alone has put me off ever having un-speutered pets!!! Didn't help I had my first bout of depression at the same time :D

I did stupid cat and his sister as young as possible (10 weeks, I think, or maybe 12) just to make sure I didn't have to deal with a female cat in heat. A friend of mine had one and it drove him nuts (though it still took him a few months to get her done, luckily she didn't get pregnant).

Nope as soon as she was out of heat - actually prob just before she finished her heat we had her done. I couldn't put up with it anymore! We got Bubba done as soon as possible, he had his plums for about 3-4 weeks after we adopted him I think. He was definitely done before he was 20 weeks old
