Hi Ed et al,
I can't stop long but just to let you know my offer was accepted on my house yesterday. :j
I'll be back to talk outlets later but I have some studying to do first. xDebt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20
Starter Emergency Fund (#187): £1000/£1000
3 month Emergency Fund (#45): £3300/£33000 -
Get in!
Very happy for you PB.0 -
Just popped in for a midweek hello
Also to say thanks for the heads up re: S123. I didn't know about that until I read it on your diary. I'm a bit disappointed as I've only recently opened an account with them and now not sure if it will be worthwhile me keeping it with the changesNeed to do some more research I think
Another B0dy Sh0p fan here tooI also wait until there is a good offer on and then splurge on my behalf and my Mum & Auntie too - so we all get to make the most of it. They are always good for cashback too

The Santander thing is a pain, isn't it ... I went through the palaver of opening the account (and I actually get statements
) but never funded it
:o:o so I think I'll just write and close it. No harm, no foul, except I cost them paperwork

Not too bad when split between a couple of peopleThe DVDs I get so cheaply - nearly all the ones on offer are really naff, but there are a few good ones in there. Two disc special set of Casino Royale
I love the special features on DVDs
and Downton Abbey, Lewis, classic stuff like that.
Charity shops here take the mick tho, sometimes - I saw Season 2 of Stargate on sale :j and walked away when they said that because it was £1 per DVD, it cost £6! Er, no! They asked what I would pay, and I paid that, I was very surprised2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
£1/disc does sound a bit unreasonable. With a few exceptions, I have a price limit of £2 + postage for a CD or DVD. Sites such as M0ney Magpie etc. pay such derisory amounts for second hand stuff that I'm unwilling to pay much more. I think I got the idea from Jacob over at ERE (well, he applies it to groceries). I basically set up an alert at C@melcamelcamel for 1p lower than the lowest price ever recorded and then wait
Luckily, I'm not particularly 'cool', so rediscovering bands from my student years etc. is a real thrill. I did some music shopping yesterday and rebought 3 albums for the princely sum of £5.20 delivered
Ironically, the more popular a band/series, the lower the value associated with resale, thanks to (ample) supply and demand.0 -

You've given me a whole new website to play with! Oh no!

oh I like that idea. Nice one Ed.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks Watty, it also feels like a way to 'get one over' on the aggressive resellers and their unfair price undercutting software. If they want to automate themselves into selling CDs for 40p, who am I to complain?0

In a bit of money news that doesn't relate to spending!
- £3.17 withdrawn from TCB
- £100 invested in a second experimental P2P loan with one of the higher yielding providers

Thanks Ed! :j Just have to sign for it now. I'm still superstitious and feel like 8'm jinxing it by telling people until I've signed the paperwork but :j
About the outlets: you seem to get some pretty stonking deals, to be fair. The only disadvantage I have found to online purchases is the postage, which sometimes you have to pay. I don't order that much from TBS so it's useful to have one of their outlets nearby in case I run out if whatever I need plus the discount to really is on everything so you aren't forced to choose something other than your favourite.
I'll give TBA their due: their body polishes are really good and I do like the fragrance of some of their shower gels but I couldn't justify buying them as more than an occasional treat even buying the largest sizes at -40% as they still work out considerably more expensive than my favourite Original Source shower gel which is really good quality and has great fragrances (£1 a bottle at the cheap shops near where I live)!Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full!
