ohhh i see thanks catwoman, seems a bit silly that they have the opportunities on the website. Maybe they should remove them. :D x
  • As someone with similar problems, I found that working from home only helped for a time and then I soon became too isolated, and depressed again. What did help was finding a part-time job working in the charity sector - specifically one that dealt with mental health problems. They were more sympathetic when I went through bad phases plus my own experience was useful for the job (helped me to empathise with people we helped).

(For a an interesting article on the subject, try searching "can going freelance help manage depression?" on Google).

To be honest, the only people I know who make a half decent living working from home are those who have a specialty - and they use that to do freelance work (such as a web designer, or someone who can teach online). I do wonder if there are any opportunities for you to teach law or business from home? Might be worth exploring. It may well be that you need to do a completely different sort of job and that will actually help you to stay healthier (that's certainly what I found - I left office work completely; best thing I ever did).

I also know someone in her 40s whose had mental health problems since her teens. She became too ill to finish her degree and was a bit lost for years, but she now works as an advocacy officer for one of the major mental health charities (she originally did it as a volunteer and was trained by them). Just an example.

Hope some of the above is helpful (sorry if it's not). Good luck.

Hi Corona thank you for your response.
Hmmm yes a change is definitely in order. working in the hospitality sector is defo not the way forward for me.
i have worked from home before with various roles and they have suited me. lead generators, consultancy etc. I am better working alone.
I know what you mean about isolation but doesnt seem to effect me as i try and get out and about still. I just cant function in a face to face social environment when im going through a bad time and most businesses havent got time for it.

Charity work is appealing but would need to pay ok. I know what you mean about your friend im in my 30s and feeling lost and the need to start again. Definitely couldnt do any more study...

Will have a look at that article.

    Thanks for your comments :D
  • I think you can earn a good amount from CPA networks. If you are a newbie, I will recommend you to join WOWtrk. They are based in UK and having a good conversion ratio.

Especially ones who seem to be trying to make something out of referrals.
