That's the point - they won't.
There's a simple reason. Despite your perception that the public mood is changing and rising prices are now seen as bad no-one really gives a s**t.
Even you don't care beyond posting stuff about help to buy, bubbles and the like on a closed forum plus, no doubt, the odd chunter in the office.
You passionately believe house price are too high and, as far as I can see, you do absolutely nothing about it. If you can't be bothered why should anyone else?
What are you asking me to do?. I'm not even selling.
Your desire to have a pop at me on every single thread is clouding your ability to discuss what the thread is actually about. Get a grip.0 -

You could pledge that you will sell cheaper when you do come to sell and advocate that others do the same ...If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -

Not asking you to do anything - I fully expect you to continue doing nothing.
Whenever I see photos of NIMBY gatherings wouldn't it be refreshing to see someone who cared enough to turn up with placards saying 'WE NEED NEW HOUSES HERE!' or 'THE NEWTS WERE A PLANT'?0 -

Instead of just putting the article to attract attention to yourself, why don't you give us your view...0 -

People do try to sell to their own children and reduced prices.0 -

I did say earlier that it was generally the case that people tried to maximise selling prices. There will be exceptions.
I'm aware of a couple who accepted an offer that was less than the highest bid - they thought the couple were nicer. Exceptions don't prove a rule.0 -

Its not the sellers that may drop there prices, its the buyers that may choose to not buy at higher prices. If borrowing ratios continue, buyers will loose the confidence and the MMR may prevent them from buying even if they wanted too.
There will not be a crash, more of a tail off of prices in my opinion. The market is merely making up for ground lost since 20080 -

The property market is made up of thousands of individual transactions. Doesn't follow that a single house has any influence nationally. May do at a very local level. But there again could be all sorts of reasons for the selling price.0
