I want a pocket full of pretty green!

Hi, just starting my diary in the hope that it will keep me on track, and help me let off steam if I need to!

To cut a long story short, in debt to tune of just under 22,000, only really faced up to this after huge argument back in Feb with hubby, who did not know about it. Things quite hairy for a while...but it forced me into thinking about getting help to tackle the problem...
After reading through forums on here, approached step change, who came up with a plan, DMP, which is just up and running now. I havent heard from all of my creditors yet, but so far ssems quite hopeful, Freemans, Tesco credit card and Simply Be all co-operating, and say they will review situation in six months, which I gather seems to be standard.
Had bill off Very today...just looked like usual..but mabey they have different dept dealing with DMP?
Need to get my Lloyds debts sorted... these were put on hold...as I had moved my wages to a basic bank account... and I was not too confident that my Crap wages dept would be efficient enough to swap accounts on time ( despite THREE weeks notice..sigh) and, yep, sure enough wages went in to Lloyds this week... sooo... I have taken money out...put it in new account...and expect the you know what to hitthe fan tomoro when my loan direct debit aint paid
trying to keep calm... but finding it all horrendously stressful! I know from reading posts...it can take a couple of months for DMP to calm down... not sure if nerves can take it!
I have been paying minimum ammounts each month.. not even scratching the surface... robbing peter to pay paul etc... so I am hopeful that this will see me on the road to being debt free.. the date step change have given me is Jan 1st 2018! How greatwill that feel :D
I have to say, worst part of everything so far has been having to admit everything to my husband... who is very good with money. The 22,000 has just gone on overspending for the family... it would be easier for him to understand if I hada fab car, or even a gambling addiction, haha!
Well, thats it for now... begining of tbe debt free journey for me!
