Is swagbucks too good to be true?

I joined about a month or 2 ago but found it overwhelmingly confusing to the point that I stopped using it for a few weeks. But I decided to give it another go about 4 days ago and have built up 100 SB just from watching videos and doing the daily polls.
I am curious if it is possible to reach the £5 amazon gift voucher (850 ish SB) just by watching videos and doing the daily polls? If so, you can earn 150 SB max a day from watching these videos, so it just seems a bit too good to be true that I can cash out a £5 amazon voucher every 6 days (well every 7 days because you are only allowed to redeem 4 times a month) just from doing something as easy (but tedious) as watching videos and answering daily polls. (I've not yet tried the surveys).
Am I right as I said above or am I missing something? I don't understand where they make their money either

I joined on 18th April and have earned 829 SW so far. Each day I run the Toolbar, do the daily poll and the NOSO (4 SWBS i think) plus play the games to get 10 SWBs.
Then I run encrave, do my normal random internet searches through SWs and if needs be watch some videos to make my daily target.
Then there is surveys which you can do (havent really done any yet!) which I think you probably need to do to get "big bucks".
Have you had a look at the swackbucking into 2014 thread? They seem like a helpful bunch (and Ive got my encrave running auto now thanks to them
).

And no I dont think it is too good to be true - they must earn their money from the ads on the videos and the surveys.0

Definitely not too good to be true, tons of us have been earning for well over a year or two now and receiving payments too.
Also, I've made over $2,000 from Clixsense so it might be worth having a look at the adverts and videos and what not there. You won't have a TV thing to run like on Swagbucks but you can listen to a radio for 3 cents per 30 minutes or so.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thanks for the replies. I am with clixsense but same again, I am finding that highly confusing. I have earnt a whopping 63 cents since I joined a couple of months ago. I am happily plodding along clicking on the links but I am unsure with the surveys.
I am a bit concerned about downloading the swagbucks toolbar in case it messes up my pc or if there's any malware etc attached to it, but I will go and have a read of the thread that was mentioned and see what it says in there£5 a day challenge ~ May £56.72/£155 July £125/£1550 -
Actually thinking about it, to earn SB from watching videos, that's a whopping 1500 videos a day and with a £20 amazon voucher earnt every 30 days, that works out at 50p for viewing 1500 videos lol. So in reality it's not much money they are paying out£5 a day challenge ~ May £56.72/£155 July £125/£1550

Not sure whether there's even that many videos to watch (you can only watch each video once a day), but in theory, you're right, its possible.
Its a good site, but if you're going to do tasks or surveys, then there are better sites out there like Clixsense, I mentioned the other day in the Clixsense thread that the pay for the CrowdFlower tasks on Clixsense can be double the pay for the same tasks on Swagbucks.
Have a look in the Clixsense thread if you're confused about it as there's a fantastic helpful guide there, these sites do take some getting used to certainly, but if you get going on them and in particular the tasks, you can make some pretty decent money, I've made $50 in a week just on Clixsense and others have made double that I believe.0 -

To earn enough SBs for a £20 Amazon voucher you'd need to watch around 11,200 videos to make 3360 SBS. You could reduce this with other videos, that pay 1 or 2 SBs per video and by getting search win (2 or 3 a day is achievable). Not to mention getting bonuses for hitting your daily target every day which could add up to 500 SBs or even more over the month. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Too good to be true?
Quite the opposite actually.
Remember 150 sbs is the equivalent of 75p. To earn that through sbtv you would need to put in a helluva lot of effort. It would be a real grind. The daily poll is only worth 1 sb which is the equivalent of 0.5p so it's not significant. You can earn a maximum of 3.5p per week from the daily poll.
The best way to earn is by doing surveys. I've just completed a dash board survey which took me 15 mins and the payment was 100 sbs. For me to earn that through sbtv it would take me much longer and would be a lot more effort. I average about £10 a week and the majority of that comes from doing surveys.
There's far better survey sites out there though. Pinecone is one of the best. They give you £3 for every survey you complete. You don't get many surveys from them but it's still well worth joining. Opinion Outpost UK is also very good. You can cash out once you hit £2.50 and the money goes into your paypal immediately. The best earning site is Clixsense. Very similar to swagbucks but they pay more for doing pretty much the same surveys. So that's my top three sites -- Pinecone, Opinion Outpost UK and Clixsense.Pay-outs since 28/11/2013:
OpinionOutpostUK - £245 MySurvey - £68 Swagbucks - £255 Clixsense - $935 Crowdology - £40 PineCone - £48 Panelbase - £30 IPSOS - £30 ValuedOpinions - £30 GTM - £600 -

I wish it were 3 cents per 30mins, Radio Loyalty is 0.03 cents per 30mins- barely anything!
I use Swagbucks mostly for surveys and occasionally other offers, plus all the usual daily clicks and I earn £30-£35 guaranteed every month and have done since Aug 2013.
I am trying to get my head around Clixsense, but it's taken me 6 months to earn $8.00 to cash out. I also find it confusing and there are barely any survey opportunities on there for me. I think Clixsense is the site for you if you want to do tasks.
I wouldn't recommend using any video sites to make major earnings. But if that's what you want to do- then sign-up to Nectar Adpoints.
I agree that there are better survey payers, but the surveys aren't as regular as Swagbucks and I get some on SB that I can't get elsewhere.
It's all personal choice at the end of the day and finding what works for you.Minimalist
