Child's earnings...

Hope someone here can help me.

My 16yo child who is still in full time education has the opportunity to earn some money helping a friend of his with online gaming servers and a youtube channel.

Would I need to declare any earnings he may make from this against working families tax credits we recieve, does his earnings count towards household income and would he need to become self employed and declare all his earnings despite being in full time education?

Thank you for any advice.

He does need to become self employed and to declare his income to HMRC, but as everyone gets a tax free allowance, regardless of age, he won't be actually paying any tax unless his job takes off in a big way (over £10,000 pa for this tax year). Not sure about NIC's, he may have to pay class 2 / 4.
