Advice for entering holidays for 2
Options

youneverknow...
Hi all
I am new to this forum and to comping, and wondered if it is OK to enter comps for holidays for 2, with the intention that if I was lucky enough to win and couldn't get childcare, that I would take our kids along and obviously pay for them to join us (I have 3 little ones). I wouldn't do this to places that are for couples only.
Or would you not be allowed to redeem the prize?
Thanks

There is a risk that you may be denied the prize but personally I just enter & forget,
If I win I then negotiate. It has worked out fine on two major holiday wins to NY & Vancouver.

It's worth a try I guess. The problem is having 3 kids, most holiday places only allow 2 adults and 2 children as I know from experience!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

I won a holiday last year which was for a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, we are actually a family of 6 with 4 children and I asked once I found out I had won the prize if I could pay the extra for all of our children to come with us. They were very flexible and actually upgraded us to a bigger lodge so we had an extra double room, added in a travel cot, highchair etc all free of charge. Thought this was exceptionally kind of them to do so but would have happily paid, can only speak from my experience but I would have thought aslong as the availability was there then there would be no reason why (depending on the style of the holiday of course!) you couldn't offer to pay for additional family members0

On the flip side, there has been an occasion where a family holiday was won and the winner had no children and wanted to go as a couple and weren't allowed to do it. It really is all down to how flexible the comp organisers are willing to be.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I won a trip to Berlin for two last year and asked if I could pay for my little one to go to (he was 1) the lady came back to me and said of course he could go and that they'd cover his costs, which weren't much, but still, nice gesture. So I am still trying them and will work out the detail IF I win!2017 Prizes - £713, 2016 Prizes - £2836, 2015 Prizes - £3598, 2014 Prizes - £36710

I never entered the 2 person hol comps when I first joined the forum as didn't think it was 'etiquette' (I have 2 very young kids and an OH to consider) then I learnt that lots of compers without kids enter the family hol comps (and vice versa :rotfl:). So, the conclusion I came to is that it's a calculated risk - should you win a hol that doesn't quite 'fit' your personal circumstances, then either the prize providers will be flexible and nice enough to 'work around' your needs, or you will simply have to decline the win
and the prize will be re-drawn and offered to someone else who 'fits' the competition criteria. C'est la vie!
