What did anyone think of the strawberries? Ours looked lovely on top but underneath they were soft mush. Utter rubbish and we had to bin them. Complete waste of £1.98

I've never had trouble from Lidl in getting a refund. Helps to be discreet, search out the manager and have goods covered and receipt available.

I didn't bother as they were so horrid last time! Rationalised that the day cream (at the same price) would be better value.

I tried looking for a manager in the store, but was told the staff on the till would sort my 'problem'. I bought a big solar light that, despite leaving it outside for a week, refused to work. I returned it and was told I couldn't have a refund as I didn't have my receipt. I said it wasn't fit for purpose and was I expected to keep receipts for everything I bought, even though it was clearly a Lidl item and still in the box? I was told I should but, eventually, given a refund - probably because there were lots of people in earshot?! I shall make sure I keep receipts in future; Aldi, I believe operate the same way.

That fact that it was a lidl product in a box isnt "proof of purchase". Surely it wouldnt kill you to keep the receipt ?

    I must agree with that.
Many years ago "professional shoplifters" would take stolen goods back to M&S for refunds!! I don't think they are as "soft" now.
Also, some items may have been reduced and the receipt would show the purchase price and the date it was bought.
