Can I claim PPI

Options
Can anyone advise how far back you can claim ppi from HFC, my loan stated in 1996 I cancelled ppi in 2003 can I claim.
I have also found the original paper work..
This Loan should have been in joint names, the original paperwork has my name computer printed and partners name added in ink, although the cover ppi was computer ticked for joint cover, (husbands name was not on agreement) sounds confusing and why at the time did I not question it, I don't know. It looks like the paper work was already for us to sign when we got the bank that day and they forgot to computer type husbands name on agreement, is this mis-sold ppi, ( we cannot remember that far back but certainly never requested ppi)
We both signed the agreement and we always got the statements sent to us in joint names...

One of our complaints was a HFC loan from 1996 with a pre-printed tick in the ppi box. I don't know if that's why the bank upheld it, probably more to do with it being a single premium loan.
Anyway, you can submit a complaint for the years you did pay for ppi. Also, you still have the original paperwork which is an advantage as HFC requested ours and bank statements showing we actually paid it. Hope this helps.
  • It was deffo pre-printed with tick in box...I have original agreement, I do have a few HFC statements showing PPI added and payed, they are a diff premium each month depending on the balance, but I am concerned that they will need more evidence as i believe it's not easy to make a claim. Do you think we stand a chance.. Did you have any paper work as proof you had it ?

"Pre-printed" ? Is this on paperwork the Bank sent you? This won't be the original document, but a facsimile.
Only online applications sometimes had a pre-populated box for PPI.
You don't appear to have a valid complaint.

This was deffo the original paper work (agreement) that we signed on the HfC premises, with pre ticked PPI, This was not an online supplication,

Pre-ticked doesnt work on paper. So, it can't be. What it is more likely to be is that they completed it on screen in front of you and then printed the forms so the output matched when was input. A very common method and doesnt indicate anything in itself.

Our original agreement came through the post with a tick already printed in the ppi box, as it was a telephone sale. However, the direct debit was the same figure every month, it didn't vary. The only documents HFC asked for were the agreement and bank statements, as proof of payment.
