I think it's going to be highly unlikely that your friend will be able to remortgage in her present circumstances. She needs a Plan B.

Yes. She won't be making the contractual payments so it will have a negative effect on her report.


As others have said, the new mortgage affordability rules will more than likely mean she will not be able to remortgage anyway. And the general advice is not to turn unsecured debt in to secured debt.


Get your friend to go on the Step Change site and use the debt remedy tool thingy to see what it recommends.

Besides, bank also there are many lenders that provide loan based on interest. I think you should contact them asap. I hope you will get the loan.
