Worth is in the eye of the enjoyer....
If you can live on £4k less - and especially if you get more free time/holidays, or it's closer to where you live, or if there's another good reason .... then why not.0 -
I completely agree with PasturesNew personally I earn less now than I used to but I have greater life and job satisfaction which is all that matters to meThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Is £4k the gross salary?0

on £36k + company car at mo dropping to £32k initially until I gain teaching qualification then circa £40k0

So from the 4k pay decrease you will be around £2650 worse off when you take away the tax and NI you would have paid on this.0

32k for a new college lecturer is high
