Mortgage application and IVA

My partner and I are have a mortgage application being underwritten with Nationwide.

We have a 30% deposit and no debt. Application is for 2 x joint income.

Partner had an IVA which was settled 2 years ago and is no longer on any credit reports.

Lender has asked for a letter from my partner stating the reason for the IVA.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this request before?

Thanks

  • Hi,

Yes I had an iva 2 years ago and have had an offer from nationwide, soon to complete on our new house next week :) nationwide wanted a completion letter from the iva company and an explanation letter via our broker as to why I had an Iva and previous debt. This seems to be standard questions that nationwide ask for evidence. It took us 6weeks from application to offer. Fingers crossed for you that yours go well. :j
