How long does bacon and fish last in the freezer ?

Hello,
Just sorted through my freezer last couple of days .
I live alone and I counted 19 packs of bacon in here , each pack holding 4 rashers each I also have some fish YS probably about 8 months old and bacon is also about 8 months
All frozen on day
They look okay ... Are they still okay quality wise ?
Thank you in advance

I don't know officially how long you should leave the above in the freezer, but I'd defrost one pack of each and cook it up; if it tastes fine...eat the lot!

It certainly wont kill you so long as it has remained frozen properly but the texture may have suffered a little. Can I ask why you would have 19 packs of bacon if you don't eat it very often :)

Frozen foods remain safe indefinitely. The guidelines for freezer storage are for quality only.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
  • If it looks okay, it is okay in my book.

The only problem with the bacon is the fat, it can still go rancid, even in the freezer, but the meat part should be fine depending on how much fat there is through it.

I keep meats for a year in the freezer. Fish might be a bit less firm once defrosted, but it certainly is safe to eat.

I made fishcakes about 3 years ago using fish which had been in my freezer for YEARS it was maybe 3-4 years past its 'best before' date.. fishcakes were perfectly fine.. :D

I always have bacon in the freezer.. stacks of it.. I use it in carbonara if it has been in there a while.

I am yet to make anyone ill!
