What happened until March 2014 is irrelevant to the tax you will pay now as we are in a new tax year.

What is relevant is your current tax code. You said 1000L.

You said your pay for April is £842 and May £850. You also said your pay next month is £1100. Given that next month is May, can you confirm which is correct? Pay for May is £850 or £1100?

I've confused myself badly here sorry.

    To clarify ;

Actual April Pay (before contributions): £643.58
Actual April Net Pay : £636.94

Expected May Pay (before tax etc) : £896.02
Expected June Pay (before tax etc) : £1106.18

I was on JSA from the beginning of June until the middle of September. Would this mean the tax was therefore payable?

unlikely but you should have P45 for the period on JSA

What happened between April 13 and June? If working how much did you earn in that period?

How much JSA did you receive?

I finished university in April and visited friends down under for a month and then began JSA in June.

I recieved about £688.20 I believe. I also never received a P45 from them despite them saying they would send one. I therefore had to fill in a P46 form at work

You need to take the two issues separately as there is two different tax years you are questioning.

Is the £643.57 your taxable pay? Is this your gross minus pension contributions?

How much tax has been deducted (if any)?
    How much NI was deducted?

The £643,57 is the gross taxable pay minus the pension contribution.
    Tax: £0 and NI : £3.35
