I have been offered a new job I have bad credit and its monthly paid. It's parcel delivery. The offer between £3000 and ££3500 a month. I can get a van on lease, but what do I use for petrol and what do I live on. The job is self employed. At the moment I am self employed and the work I'm doing is coming to an end. What can I do. I don't want to be on the dole. If I am i won't have enlighten money to pay the mortgage etc. Can anyone advise me please.

Thanks

  • Be careful with job offers like this, they make lofty promises of thousands of pounds per month but the reality is far far less. Make sure not to put yourself in financial duress based on the claims this company is making about potential earnings. Don't be ashamed about taking JSA and other help available, you've been paying tax right? You've been paying into the system and helping others, if you need help you shouldn't be ashamed to take it.

I totally agree. You need to do some careful research to satisfy yourself that this level of income is realistic and that you know what the total costs will be.

If your finances are so tight that you cannot get through the first month until "payday" then how are you going to cope with any periods of lower income or unexpected expenditure?

    Be very careful.

I suspect 'enlighten money' is autocorrect for 'enough money'. DYAC :D

I support the advice you have been given. My husband (disabled, stuck at home) talks to delivery drivers a LOT, and they consistently complain of unrealistic schedules, 100+ deliveries a day and working really really excessive hours to try to meet the demands of the job. There's a VERY high turnover of drivers.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(
