Were/Are you happy with your first property?

I was very happy with my first home and would probably have stayed there much longer if my job hadn't moved 40 miles away.

Yes, very happy. Probably not our Dream property (as they are out of our financial reach right now), but we bought pretty much what we were looking for.

For years we were unwilling to compromise (like buying a flat or a small house) and rented instead. We were lucky that house prices fell at the right time, and early 2013 we bought a 4BR house with about 1900 sqf that we won't outgrow anytime soon. As we agreed on it when the foundations were just about down we had the chance to get the builder to build the house to our requirements and taste.It was small local builder, who was happy to accommodate on any requests we had.So while potentially not our Dream home, it eventually got a lot of features that we would expect our potetial dream home to have (bar the 2 acre garden, the double garage with office on top of it etc. ).
