Redundancy and Jobseeking questions.

Hi all,

I have a couple of questions I was hoping you could answer for me please.

firstly if I were to be made redundant I would be entitled to 7 weeks pay for my redundancy pay as been at company for 7 years, I also have to give them 7 weeks notice if I were to leave so what I wanted to know is, if I were to go to work tonight and they decide to make me redundant there and then, would I be entitled to the 7 weeks notice as pay as well as the 7 weeks stat redundancy pay?

Secondly, if I were jobless and needed to sign on to JSA would the fact that I need to look after my young child during the day be detrimental to there opinion on me being available for work and therefore not pay me JSA? Even though I would be available for evenings, nights and weekends.
