Urgent Advice On Bailiffs Needed

Hi,

I am staying with friends and answered the phone earlier on to someone who said they were sending the bailiffs around this afternoon for unpaid council tax.

I've tried getting hold of my friends but neither of them have answered their mobiles and I don't have their work numbers.

What do I do when the Bailiffs come round? I've heard that if you don't open the door they can't come in. Is that true?

I can lend my friends the money to pay off the debt, but haven't be able to get hold of them to say this. And, as I don't have a debit or credit card (LONG STORY) I couldn't do that on the phone earlier.

Not sure what to do. Can anyone tell me what's best?

Thanks in advance.
D x

    Hi Dankes,

Keep the doors locked, close any windows, and conduct any conversation through the letter box or by shouting. Don't under any circumstances let them in the house and don't offer anything by way of payment until you've spoken to your friends.

Thanks so much. Will do. Have run round closing all windows. I actually feel physically sick. But thanks for the advice.
