Anyone tried to get a Santander mortgage recently?

I went in to Santander last we to discuss my mortgage, only to be told that they have no branch based mortgage advisers until June due to mmr training.
A colleague of mine who used to work for Santander has also said that they currently have 1200 system faults to resolve due to the changes, so its no wonder that there are delays.

Thanks Juliemacnam. I can see from their service updates on their website that things seem to be speeding up a bit but it's the going back to the beginning every time they need more information that's getting to me..

I'd hoped to be in the underwriter queue today but nope, sadly not...

It took us six weeks to get to a decline. A combination of broker and bank mistakes. The decline wasn't anyone's fault, but the purchase fell through because it took so long to get to that point. Keep on at them.

I've just been told that my mortgage has been approved subject to valuation. It's taken 4 weeks to get to this stage but most of that was spent to-ing and fro-ing over missing documents which subsequently turned up. Once it eventually made it to the underwriter it took less than 48 hours to approve. I was worried as a 25 year term would take me to 68 but it wasn't flagged as an issue. Fingers crossed the valuation will go well...
