Debt Collectors & Payday loan companies

Options
Ok can I write to them (both DCAs and PDLs) instructing them to contact me by letter only? I have been told this on here with regards to DCAs but what about PDLs?
Also, one of the PDLs I took out has been in arrears for a few weeks, yet despite this I have not had any letters or any contact from them. I log in to the account online and it says "IN ARREARS" yet they don't seem to be chasing me? Why is this?
I would also like to make payment to all DCAs and PDLs of a token amount (given my outgoings, ever so small amounts are all I can afford) - now, a debt management company I sought advice from told me they are legally oblidged to take so-called "token payments" as this shows a willingness to pay at least something rather than just nothing and bury one's head in the sand - however I was then told by people on here that this is wrong, that the DCAs and PDLs can refuse token payments and order you to either pay the amount they would prefer you to pay, or otherwise it's huge trouble. My god, I cannot think straight, this is causing me so much distress it's unreal. Every day is hell...I want to get this debt sorted but want to know the answers to these questions.

Many thanks in advance, guys

    Hi,
Don't panic !! yes you can request contact by letter only, but you may still get calls, if you do, just tell them you will only communicate with them by letter, and hang up. I suspect the ones not chasing you, soon will be, all you need to do is write to each lender explaining your financial situation, and making your offer of payment, that's it, just pay them, if they don't accept, most likely all that will happen is they will sell the debt on to a DCA, and you will need to negotiate with them, most should accept what you offer them, pay day loans wont end up in court unless its for millions lol, just make your offers and pay what you can, that's all you can do, no need to worry to much about it, your not the only one believe me.

    Thank you ! :)
I cannot explain how much it means to me, your responses. Despite how reassuring they are, the DCAs and PDLs do still terrify me with how they behave :(

Just bear in mind that 99% of what they say to you, they say to everyone else to, there tactics are meant to spook you, the trick is to realise this and to act accordingly, believe me after so long of getting the same "threats" off DCA`s, it does become funny listening to the same old tosh, over and over again, the absolute worst they can do to you is take you to court, and that's very rare, no court would ever make you pay more than you can afford, so as long as you realise most of there threats are empty ones, the fear goes away, most will accept a payment plan you can afford, you should not have any trouble in that area, they can bleat all they want, they cant get what you don't have, can they ?
