help needed with tinned green lentils

hiya I'm making tea and opened a tin of green lentils in water but some of them are coated in white. Are they OK to eat do u think?

Yes they'll be fine - they probably have calcium chloride added as a firming agent which will be causing the whiteness. Give them a rinse if you're uncomfortable with it x0

I always dump canned lentils into a sieve and rinse them under the tap.
I once had a tin where the contents come out in one big can shaped lump :eek: which prompted me to always rinse them now.:hello:0
