Question re accepted payment offer please

Options
Hi

Marlin/Mortimer Clarke have accepted my proposed payment offer for a CCJ they took over from Nothern Rock.

Can someone confirm if i should be asking them to confirm the debt will reduce with the payment/annual statements will be received before i start paying or should i just start paying them

I have asked them too during the correspondance between us but its been ignored

thanks

Paul

Obviously it will reduce the more you re-pay, you can ask for a "statement of account" at any time while you repay it, these companies not good at small talk i`m afraid !!!

    Hello there,

Has the payment arrangement been agreed as part of a court order? If so it can prevent the creditor from easily taking further enforcement action against you. That said, if they have agreed your payment arrangement it would be unfair of them to take things further. If you do wish to apply to the court to seek an order to reinforce the amount you wish to pay via instalments, here is a link to our guide.

For the record, if you are a home owner, instalments may not prevent a creditor from being able to apply to secure the debt against your home, this is known as a 'charging order'.

    Best wishes,

    David @natdebtline
