Asda Price Guarantee

Options
Just wanted to sound off a little.

Despite the technological advances over the years - it still fascinates me that Asda insist that you print out the voucher if you're entitled to a APG refund off your next shop.

I suggested a little while ago on Twitter that it would be easier for customers & more helpful to the environment for vouchers to be sent to mobile phones. Then, you'd just scan your phone display instead of the slightly crumpled coupon you've been keeping in your pocket.

The answer was 'no'.

It can be done, as proven with the Grolsch e-barcodes comp last year.

And Tesco - 'every little helps'?? It would help a lot more if instead of giving me the price difference receipt once I've paid, just take the amount off the cost of my shopping on that visit!

Again, the answer was 'no'.

What if you haven't got a smart phone? Or no phone for that matter. Cleverclogs. :)

Ok... They should give you the option to send to smartphone! 70% of mobile phones owned now in the UK are smart phones & that number is growing by the day.

You are more likely to lose a piece of paper than you are a phone. So there will be a percentage of people who use the apg to print a voucher and then not use it because they can't find.

They are designed to get you to come back and shop again. When you have the receipt for your next shop you are more likely to go back.

And again, some people may not be able to find the receipt so never use it.

They're probably hoping that some people simply won't bother.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Sounds like the OP is assuming the supermarkets actually want to help up save money
