Can you haggle the redemption of a mortgage?

I've had the good fortune of picking up a barely above base rate lifetime tracker mortgage, so I've been stoozing 6 figure sums into higher yielding investments.

For various reasons, i've decided to simplify my affairs and sacrifice this profit.

However, I was wondering if it is the etiquette to haggle for a capital reduction or waiver of administration charges. While I probably have little chance of gain, what concerns me more is the chance of loss (could this be misinterpreted or cause problems with credit reporting, etc.)

Obviously, if there's nothing to lose, then I'll give it a go.

You cannot 'haggle' a written contract you have signed.
