Using Excel I had calculated my monthly outgoings and compared that with the money coming in, and I noted that I could save £700.
In my outgoings, I had accounted for restaurant meals outside .. etc and put that to £150.
So I was thinking of getting rid of the restaurant costs ... etc but still, that would make it around £10 a day, which is still very little considering that will now support me and my wife.
Yep, better off withoutThanks Bill.

Definitely agree - put a few hundred aside a month, delay the wedding a bit, don't have so much of a grand affair and it means you don't start married life in debt
Does your wife-to-be work? Could you both save towards it?

I suspect that your calculations are potentially rose-tinted anyway. Do you really have £700 a month 'spare' and if not, why not if your calculations show that you do. If I were you, I would take this opportunity to sort out my finances for good and always using proper accounting software (something like 'you need a budget'), or if you dont fancy that, at least a more serious spreadsheet, like the ones that can be found at https://www.vertex42.com. If you budget properly, there is no reason on earth why you could not have that £10K in your hand by spring next year and more besides if you really are careful.
Dont start your married life in debt - most of us wish we had followed that advice too, so you are not alone.
