Help, chicken fat spilt on dark blue denim

I'm sure some of you lovely ladies will be able to help me with this.
I spilt some chicken fat on my best pair of dark blue denim jeans and its left a horrible big mark. I can't do the brown paper and hot iron as I don't have an iron. I also don't have a washing machine so have to go to the laundrette but I'm not due to go for a couple of weeks and was hoping to get the mark off before next weekend as I am going away and wanted to wear them.
I don't want to swap the stain for a big white splodge so don't want anything that's going to take the colour out. I've already tried neat washing up liquid but that didn't do anything. Any ideas please?

Biotex will work. I am surprised washing up liquid didn't work, did you rub it in and leave it for a couple of hours before washing it out under the tap?MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR0

I've used shampoo to get out fat stains on tops before now: rubbed it into the stain, leave it for a bit then wash it out. But never tried it on denim though.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I too would give it a try with a dollop of washing up liquid really soak it in and leave for a couple of hours then rince and scrub (with a nailbrush if you haven't a scrubbing brush)it should foam up a little but thats good basically its grease you want to remove. You may have to give it a few goes but what can you lose0

I'm definitely with JackieO and softpad on this one - have another go with the washing-up liquid and really massage it in and leave it for a while 'to do its thing'.
Basically it's 'detergent' and ultimately it's what gets used on seabirds when they've encountered oil spills at sea ...................
You may need to give it a couple of attempts to shift every last mark though - but make sure you wash the jeans after each treatment. As you state, you don't want to leave a 'big faded mark' where you've been rubbing away at the stain.0 -
Yup, I'm with the neat washing up liquid too - wet down the stain, good dollop of washing up liquid, scrub it in and leave for a few hours before washing again.
I managed to get road grease out of DH favourite jeans this way when he came diff his scooter - took 2 attempts but they came up fine
Good luck!!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Argh - that's where I probably went wrong then, I just rubbed it in and rinsed straight out. should have left it a bit then. Will have another go tonight. Thank you!!0
