Train from Worcester to London St Pancras International

I'm really hoping someone can help me as I'm going round in circles.
4 of us are travelling together to Brussels next week. I've already bought the Eurostar tickets (non flexible), now I just need to buy the rail tickets from Worcester to London.
When I booked the Eurostar tickets by phone, I mentioned to the booking lady that I would be buying the Worcester to London tickets separately to benefit from Groupsave (4 for the price of 2). She advised me to go to my local station and 'link' these tickets with the Eurostar tickets so that if the local train was delayed and we missed Eurostar, we could get on the next available one. However, when I asked about this at my local station they knew nothing about linking tickets.
I've done some research myself using Seat 61 website and I'm guessing that to link tickets, I have to book Worcester to London International CIV. However, this doesn't seem to qualify for Groupsave and we will have to pay full price.
So, am I understanding this correctly? We either get our cheaper Groupsave tickets to London Paddington and allow extra time, or pay full price to London International which will give us some flexibility if the local train is delayed. (There isn't a particularly frequent service from Worcester).
Or is there some other way that we can get the cheaper Groupsave tickets and still 'link' them with Eurostar as suggested?

I always buy CIV tickets from Eurostar as I've sometimes struggled to get them from local stations who always seem to want to charge more. They are surprisingly cheap and have no peak/ offpeak restrictions.
I think groupsave tickets are only available on off peak services so depending on when you are travelling they might not be an option.
If you do decide to go with groupsave as long as you allow sufficient time to travel across London your travel insurance will probably cover you if you miss your connection. The difference will be that Eurostar will require you to buy new tickets and you will be on your own. CIV tickets oblige them to put you on the next available train.0
