Morrisons Fuel Offer Anomaly

As most people are probably aware Morrisons are offering 6p per litre off fuel with a £40 shop this week. I went shopping yesterday and decided to split my shop into £40 segments.
Anyway the checkout assistant stopped 2 of my segments at £40 and I got the fuel vouchers. The 3rd segment didn't come to £40 so I paid and the till machine spits out a £4 voucher off a £50 shop.
I'm not sure if the £4 voucher will be given with every shop under £40 but it will certainly be worthwhile for anyone to split their shop in order to give this a try. (The vouchers actually better than the fuel offer unless you're refuelling more than 82 litres.
