Do DMP Companies contact Creditors or the Collection agency ??

Will the DMP company, contact the 'original creditors?
or the Debt collection agencies?
Most debts have been passed on to Debt collection agencies, as Many months have gone by:
Eg, Creditors =
Rbs
Santander
LLyds TSB
Halifax
But their Equivalent Debt Collection agencies are:
Westcot,
Harley Legal
Pjcds
Morgan stanley
So, asking when the Debt management company, after their income and expenditure (Stepchange or Payplan) contact the creditors, will the contact the Original creditors? (Llyds, halifax, Santander?) - or they will contact the Debt collection agencies? (where the debts have been passed on to?)
And what letters do you send them? the Debt collection agencies? or the Original credit company letters? (whom the debt is owed) ?

Depends if the DCA`s own the debt or not, your DMP provider (I hope its a free one ?) will contact whoever owns the debt, if its still the original creditor, then they will contact them, if the debt has been sold on, then they will contact the DCA that owns it, you don't need to send them anything, as your DMP provider will attend to this for you, however you can do this yourself, theres nothing they do, that you yourself cant do, they just put forward your payment proposal, and they will either accept, or refuse it, the same as if you had proposed it yourself.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. If the DCA owns it,, and gets contacted by the DMP company, payplan.. then will Payplan contact the original creditor?
or the original creditor will be out of the loop, as they no longer own the debt ?0 -
If the DCA owns the debt it is no longer anything to do with the original creditor.0

Only the owner of the debt will be contacted !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
