This is very reminiscent to me of DS2 and the way he is when a new channel is added to the sky menu and all the channels change numbers into a different order. He has been following the sky menu since he was a toddler......pre HD menu, which was a major change to the way it was presented ( a second layer was added)
And yes he will watch a programme on any given channel if it moves....I don't know why? Maybe because it's different or it has changed?
No idea - but I did used to compare the chart positions every week between the sales-only chart (on Radio 1) and the sales/airplay chart (on 'independent radio':D as it used to be called). And found that whatever was higher on sales but lower on airplay I always liked more, whatever was about the same position was a song I thought was okay but not as good and whatever was lower on sales but higher on airplay was disliked by me in virtual absolute proportion to the difference in positions. They used to have Top 10 pure sales on both. Position number 11 in the airplay chart, that had in fact fallen way down to 20-odd or 30-odd on sales only, was always my most disliked song. Whereas if something had gone Top 10, but just fallen out (on sales), it always went way down the sales/airplay chart if it was a song I liked. I promise you this was done, by me, my tastes - you either like something or not and how much etc. - in advance of the positions even materialising.
I think it's why I really dislike it now - it's very scientific, again we (or more to the point, I:D) talk about marketing and consumer psychology and scientific analyses of consumer behaviour and how most people shop - which the stores do know and they do, very scientifically, determine how they price and promote etc. - as well as positioning in the store (which I've mentioned before, e.g. £1 r'backs on aisle ends) - I dislike it now because, slowly over time, it had the effect of transforming everything into something the total opposite of my taste, in order to get radio play, they must conform to a particular type of sound, producers who do not will find their music not played and therefore they have to change to do that and to get sales (albeit that some of my songs were getting sales without airplay, but that was just because they were 'club' records that DJs bought). Apparently not conforming to current trends and not following 'the sheep' is also an Aspergery trait.
Anyway, I'm a free spirit and who cares about chart positions now? I could not even physically listen to what is in the charts, whatever they are, as it is too thoroughly unbearable to me. Unlistenable.
And it does all sound the same. And the variation in the timbre pallet has reduced demonstrably:rotfl:.
It all sounds the same - more 'modern' stuff - and here's the scientific evidence:

I did use to live in Bedfordshire for real when I first moved to England. I couldn't explain to anybody which part of England it was as even the locals didn't seem sure. South- East? East Anglia? South Midlands? Home Counties? London environs?
Anyhoo need to catch one more Game of Thrones. Seems to ghave dragons in it now. :eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I could (obviously) go on for hours and hours about this topic, as it is a bugbear (or past bugbear?) for me. Anyway...shall we just get back to the music?:D:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (Laughing as that's the very topic of the 'bugbear' itself.)0

(Apparently totally random - or will appear that to readers I suspect.)
We are long due a cereals glitch. I am just ready to start (next time) those 3 huge boxes of Special K. Having just finished the pack of Ricicles that was a glitchy trigger when I bought them:rotfl:. :eek:I forgot to get the Honey Nut Shredded Wheat last time on my Avs T shopping. Meant to do that! Oh well - still £1.14 for T until 27/5 we're told.
Hopefully some glitch will come on somewhere, otherwise don't want to be buying cereals beforehand only for a glitch to happen afterwards:eek:.
As for the music, and shopping comps. as well, I think being anoraky is good in today's society is it not? It used to be that the anoraks would be seen as swotty and doing their schoolwork, always following what teacher told them rather than getting into trouble. Bizarrely(?) that's what would get you (in other words me) bullied - being different to all the others as they would behaviour typically and not learn. I'd actually have to hold myself back, to try to 'fit in', and not display the true extent of my knowledge. Seems a bit wrong to have to do that - but that's what it was. Goodness knows what stage I would now be at if I had advanced and studied my true level. As an adult, the 'anoraky' thing now comes in useful and the eccentricness is sometimes appreciated. As well as these people landing up as being your bosses nowadays:rotfl:. I may yet have the last laugh:rotfl::rotfl:!0 -
