It's not the del monte light (blueish tin). It's the green tins at £1.10.
It's only a game

Savvy bought a couple other varieties:
Crushed pineapple, pineapple chunks.

Ooh! Was this in a regular T or an extra? I scanned them in a "normal" store, but the beans didn't work in there, even though they'd worked in an Extra store earlier in the day, so perhaps there is a bigger difference than I thought between prices in the two types of store. Either that or my local store just isn't as quick to update reduced prices as the Extra? Most definitely worth investigating back at the big store tomorrow methinks0 -
[Ooohh... that was close!_pale__pale__pale_ - post nearly lost as logged out whilst I was trying to post it. Saved in the nick of time!:j Lol - it's taken me longer to write than I was in Morries for:eek: ( about the time taken to write this, not about the time I spent in M:)).]
:hello:I'm thinking of taking up the weekly Morries price collection again, or even taking up a twice-weekly collection (but without the "again" as I wasn't doing that previously:p:rotfl:). It was nice, after quite a long time, to get back in touch with Morries prices, and with the range of what M now stock, this afternoon with msm being so unreliable. Especially with the much quicker method of relying on my memory. I must admit (well after the event:D) that the old writing-down price collections could take me up to three, sometimes four, hours - on one occasion, when a lot of offers had just expired and loads more new ones went on, nearly five hours:eek::eek::o. (I had an afternoon off specially for that:rotfl:.) Tonight - well, probably an hour and twenty minutes:T:T:T. Good eh? So I now know the price on every item in Morries and all the items. Almost.
Moments of  as I walked round the store - and, here we go, no pen and no paper remember;). (No pencils or lipstick and hands:eek: either for the pedantic:rotfl:.) S/P Cooking Bacon vs M 81p, S/P Lemonade vs 17p, S/P Fruit & Nut Mix vs 56p - why didn't any of these come to my mind when putting together the M list (as currently on post 17)?:rotfl::mad::rotfl: The usuals and trites therefore, such as those. S/P (Unsmoked) Streaky Bacon, with whatever price adjustment is normally made on that - no real need to remember the weight:rotfl:, CBY Polony vs normal price 54p.
Let's take you round the store now. I found 1.5kg M Baking Potatoes on 3 for £1.50. It appears A and T get out of a price comp. on that by failing to make any equivalent size of their own:rotfl: but keep an eye on wombles on the 2.5kg pack in case they mess up with that - would love it if that compared even if only vs 69p individual price!:D Oh look - no 1.5kg Baking Potatoes packs for M on msm:(:(:rotfl::rotfl:, don't worry folks I'm not cheating;) - just working through the M items as I've remembered them and seeing if alternatives existing elsewhere.
Maybe T PP will mess up on their fresh pizzas and compare vs 50p on the very small (100g thereabouts) versions in M?:rotfl: But don't go trying them, needlessly, as I doubt it!;)
Dan Cake Truffle Cakes in M at RTC 37p. Were also showing 75p and Any 2 for £1 on the packs - wonder if they'll go through at 37p each and then knock the (now phantom) mbuy price off?:rotfl: However I didn't check, sorry, as not buying anything today:wall:.
The loose parsnips appear to have increased:eek: in price - from £1.22/kg to £1.29/kg:eek::eek:_pale__pale__pale_:rotfl:. However £1.49/kg A vs M should still compare to cheaper. No loose ginger in my store unfortunately, but I suspect it'll still be cheaper for M.
Loose Sweet Potatoes are £1.19/kg M (these are all M prices unless stated;)), but T's now cheaper so looks like it's Avs T. Should unfortunately lose you out a bit on Tvs M, but hopefully they'll miss M off again:rotfl:!
More Bisto frozen ready meals - I can offer Bisto Beef Lasagne (375g) now (M £1), but already available on Avs T. A S/P Minced Beef & Onion Pies (4x120g) £1.00 A vs M 69p, hopefully. Or we can try. And it can fail:mad::(:rotfl:.
After all that!:rotfl: The Schwartz Ground Cloves at 48p in M turn out to be too much different size:(. Would have been great... anyway...:rotfl: - they are definitely Ground Cloves as I made sure. Just remember what you know to be correct Savvy!:D:)
Bet this one turns out to be unavailable in A and T now...:(
Oh... it's in T! Alberto V05 Give Me Moisture (now was it conditioner or shampoo?!?:mad::o) 250ml on RTC at 50p in M. T £2 on whichever it is:(. :(I remembered the Give Me Moisture bit!
A S/P Tomato & Onion Pasta & Sauce 110g - 34p A vs M RTC 10p (but weight adjustment as M is 100g). What do we think of them picking that up given the weight difference?
The Mug Shots (sachets) are no longer going to be 50p each, as M now onto 4 for £3:(, so expect them to become just vs T. That's if the new APG collection doesn't keep the old 50p on in error:rotfl:. (And it might do different things on different ones:rotfl::rotfl:.)
McVities Jaffa Cakes 12 pack now on 50p - but let's hope they return 5p or something, or 0.5p:rotfl::rotfl: (I know this has been reported as returning at £1.19 but I'm hoping to address that point in a later post quite soon).
Harpic Power Plus Citrus Fresh 750ml at £1. Sorry to disappoint on the Cow & Gate Stage 1 that compared vs M at £7.49. They would have been better bought in twos, as M 2 for £13:(:rotfl::rotfl:.
Broccoli 335g still on, Iceberg still on, as are Mini Twisters, got the Veetee Rices 250g to add now to the Tilda ones (both 79p). Penguin bars on at 74p and yes M do have mint! Morries Right Balance cereal (500g) now £1 - perhaps should compare from A's Starting Right but didn't last time that was on. Even though msm shows them comparing:think: - nah!?
The Savers Irish Stew in M turns out to be 400g, as opposed to A's 392g, so the 48p for M is a weight adjusted price:rotfl:. 4 pack CBY Frozen Steak Pies vs £1.33 M. There's a Lake District Quark Lemon in M at 90p to go along with the Quark "Natural" (whatever that means:p - what's "natural"? Typhoid fever?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - lol, I'm not sure they had my posed question in mind when describing their product, the question that popped into my head there:rotfl::rotfl:). Quark "Natural", if they wish to continue to maintain that description;), shows on msm for T and M but the Lemon version - may it still be available in T?! - doesn't appear for either, but that's irrelevant, even if only instore in T and not on msm it may still compare to M, under T's totally separate PP price collection:)).
Elsewhere in M, I did have a chuckle about this - Whiskas Cat Bowls at £1 RTC:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
The JFs, whichever they may be:rotfl:, are on buy one get one FREE!!!:j:j:j:j in M. £6 each:(:(:(. :rotfl:If anyone sees a need to try them in two comparing ones:rotfl::rotfl:.
More still, of course, later! NB: New price details, but we're not on the new price collection on the APG yet are we?!?
Finally, just to cause a tiny bit of confusion, McCain Micro Chips have, at last, gone onto 2 for £3 in Sains and W. now so we can buy in twos in A vs there.
Right - I'm just nipping out and back later!:)0 -
My local policeman offered to help...
Free ride home too.
Now we can all have one of these:
The tomato sauce really moisturises the skin.
:rotfl:
112 cans of beans tends to have that effect
One of the SAs was doing a survey about the new trolleys and I stopped to answer it, and she told me she'd just assumed I was running a cafe :rotfl:
Hopefully it'll help my parents and my in-laws out, as my brother has hollow legs and the in-laws are struggling with money at the minute, so I'm doing my bit for their grocery budgets0 -

RE.. The heinz beans.
There was a sel for 80p in my local, but sadly no beans.
So I ordered for C&C tomorrow. Online at 80p. If you order under £25 they charge you £4 so I had to order 32 packs.
I wonder what subs I'll get! :rotfl:0 -
