After being stuck on the benefit trap for a few years iv landed myself a decent job on around £18000 a year. Iv just got my credit expert trial and I am quite surprised so looking for some advice!
A little about myself:
I'm 27 single mum of 3 young children 3 and under!
I now work full time 5 days a week child are is all sorted!
So iv got my credit report and want to know how to make it better?
I don't have any credit, had an overdraft which I defaulted last 03/13 at £2000 as I had gone over od and the £5 a day charges to put the nail in the coffin which was buried already on benefits!
So on my report I have 5 activities:
2 defaults- said Halifax one and a virgin media one for £153 (one iv tried disputing as I cancelled the contract after 2 months after a very unreliable service from the start!)
2 satisfactory- my existing bank account which I have no overdraft and one virgin media from my old house.
I also have one that's blank for studio catalogue says started in 12/13 however I'm unaware of an account?!?
I also have a CCJ for £4000, this was unpaid uni fees, basically I went to uni backed by student finance company and only when I left when I fell pregnant they pulled the finance as I was repeating the year so they couldn't pay for it! I only found this out once I had the CCJ as I had moved house after uni and was too late! I have asked for a note to be added to that!
Anyway, I was wondering how can I get my credit score from very poor of 559? My report said a negative is that I have revolving credit for 10 months or less? Any ideas what this means?
I'm going to start paying the defaults off so it shows I'm trying! Any ideas what else I can do? x

A massive well done from me. We have 2 kids under 3 and it is serious hard work.
Can I just ask, why is it you are so worried about improving your credit rating at the mo?
Unless you are thinking of a morgage? Why not just get in a stable condition and maintain regular payments, Your credit rating will sort itself in time, so long as you pay up.0 -
I know it's hard haha! It just been hanging over my head! To be honest I thought I had a lot more defaults! Most debt I had was from when I just turned 18, worked in a bank and got all kinds thrown at me, but they seem to have dropped off!
I would like to buy my own house in a couple of years when iv saved deposit so would like to improve my file x0
