It can be fiddly trying to work out how to find the most bangs for the buck. SELs are based on price per 100ml but do not include units of alcohol to the pound. This is unfair. Easy enough when juggling 330 and 500 ml bottles but becomes ungainly when 275 and 568 ml and cans come into the mix. And even worse if you want to include wines and spirits. Should we complain to Trading Standards and demand the SEL includes units of alcohol per pound, too?

(This would not affect and help just those who want more alcohol - health (sic) nuts (not sic) could also use the new SELs to select lower alcohol options (nope, don't ask me.))

    I've been Money Tipped!
It isn't a requirement to include that information on price labels - even the price per 100ml or other figures used for comparison are there as a courtesy rather than because they must be displayed.

You can 'demand' whatever you like, but Trading Standards can not and will not tell retailers to provide the information you want as they can only enforce legal requirements - not random demands from customers. Your best bet is to ask the retailers to provide the information - if they think it will help them sell more beer or otherwise further their commercial interest then they might do it.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

Alcohol content has nothing to do with quality of alcohol. If you want to scrutinise each and every label for what will get you ****ed quickest and cheapest, may I suggest you re-evaluate your priorities :)

Hey, it's not like I'm reaching for the two litre plastic bottles of cider. Yet.
