Temping, JSA and HB

Hi, does anyone have any experience with temping and signing off at the job centre? Like I'm wondering if I temp for say 3 months and then can't get another role can you just sign back on straight away? I know when u leave a job u have to wait about 6 weeks to sign on or something like that which can depend on circumstance so I'm not sure if temping would be the right way to go? I also claim HB does anyone know if it's the same? Thanks

I've done this loads over the last year... Yes you can sign back on and do a rapid reclaim, make sure you tell the HB lot as job centre and HB don't talk to each other.... Also speak to HB as you may get help with your rent etc while working if you are on a low wage... They keep this quite I was in tears in there office and I asked why didn't you tell me I could of had help.... I was informed "you didn't ask" How I am meant to know what is on offer, I have no idea if someone doesn't tell me in the first instance!!!

    Good luck

Thank you so much! What do I tell HB though, do I need to tell them I am temping? Do I tell the job centre that I am temping? I am just worried that if it doesn't work out and I need to sign back on they won't be able to pay me for x amount of weeks x

Just be honest with them, say you have a temp position for x time, tell the HB people too. Ask them if you still entitled to help with rent or CT. They may say no but if you go in with your payslips of what you earn then they may help...
