Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!

We have a few small debts included in the DMP which are literally a £200ish. If we had the money to clear these can we go ahead and do that? This would mean we could then keep our monthly payment the same but more would go to the other bigger debts and everything would get paid off a bit quicker.

My husband can sometimes earn a wee bit of overtime but it's not regular enough to be able to increase the monthly payment. But we would like to put the extra money to good use to pay off a bit of our debt.

    Thanks

Save any extra money you get into an emergency fund, you may need it. I didn't have an emergency fund and thankfully nothing happened.

Within 6 months of my dmp ending I've had....clutch, brakes and recent ly the Boiler go. If that had happened earlier I would have been stuffed.

So please take a bit of advice from me, save a bit when you get it, just in case.

I'm so glad I asked the question and didn't do anything silly that could have jeopardised our DMP with payplan

Nice one, Clairebear! Your original post was perfectly clear BTW.

I wish you the best of luck!

I wish I'd known about this forum before I stupidly took out a vanquis card whilst on my dmp !!! What a plonker I was....racked it up to £1k and now struggling to pay that off too. Just goes to show that I'm still an idiot with money :(
    Never ever again.
