My wifes company have messed up her wages 3 times in the last 3 months.last month they failed to pay her O/T and sunday working. They blamed it on the system and said it would be paid THIS MONTH, we estimated that she was 4-500 pound short. That meant we could not pay council tax or mortgage. Today she should have been paid a normal month and with the backpay should have recieved £1400 she was paid £600 and got told the same it is a system fault ...she is not the only one to suffer and her friend gave her notice and waked out ...My wife has said she would not work until she gets paid and was threatened with disaplinary action...again we cannot pay bills...what do or can we do ...we cant wait until next month again ...

Are you saying that you can only pay the council tax and mortgage if your wife works overtime?
State clearly to the firm you need your wage to pay your bills. Ask for a bank transfer or cheque for the missing amount and they can make a deduction against next months wage for this amount0 -
To save writing it again have a look at my reply to this post.....

In my experience there is usually nothing wrong with the system, its the idiots using the system that are the problem.
I would be going in and asking the finance manager for a cheque made out to cash or instant transfer.0 -
It is the people who are putting the information into the system that are inefficient.
I would be asking fro cash in hand and then it is up the them to adjust tax ni etc next month.
Hope you get it sorted.0 -

she does not have to work overtime to pay the mortgage and council tax how ever she works full time at min wage or slightly above ....we would expect her to bring home approx £1000 a month ...she has got £600 for nearly 40 hrs work ..last month the same happened 400 short plus some overtime she done.. we estimate they now owe her over £8000 -
Firm could be having cashflow problems themselves.
Possibly saying that there has been a computer system problem, when really they can;t afford to pay out everyone's wages in full (at least in the short term)0 -
Letter Before Action giving them 14 days to pay the outstanding amount in order to avoid being taken to Court might work.Never Knowingly Understood.

Like Hippo I also understood your post to say that as a result of your wife not being paid overtime you could not pay your council tax or mortgage. As overtime is never guaranteed this leaves you in a very imperilous position indeed.0
